Along the way I was trained as a Forces Photographer covering Flash, Forensic, Infra-red, Monochrome and Macro photography, the courses were very intense and took over 3 years. I am also up to speed in the World of Digital,

My HARDWARE

My first camera was a 35mm (1970s)  trusty Pentax SP500 which I still use today. My main outfit is a CANON EOS 5D Mk11 and a second body EOS 7D, lenses, Canon EF70-200mm f/4L USM#. Canon EFS17-85mm IS USM#.Canon EF180mm f3.5 L Macro USM. Sigma 70mm 2.8 Macro. and top of the range Speedlite 580EX11 Flash Units.

For Studio work I use 3 Interfit Stellar 300 flash heads and for my mobile Studio I use 3 Interfit EX150 II flash heads which are great for tight spaces around home. Both kits are Wireless.

Printers are Canon Pixma IP4500 and a Canon Pixma Pro 9000 for large format printing.

Most of my work is shot in Raw format and I use 8GB EXTREME lll Compactflash memory cards. I use Adobe Elements 7 to check the images and Canons Digital PRO software to tweak the finished prints. The pictures on this site are changed on a regular basis so it is worth checking out each month.

WILDLIFE

I am very passionate about wildlife, and it is my favorite subject to photograph. I have my own personal “hide” in the garden overlooking farmland. I have photographed everything from: the humble Sparrow to all the Big Cats in Kenya.

I am a member and support many wildlife Organisations including: The World Wildlife Fund, The Born Free Foundation and The Tees Valley Wildlife Trust.

I have won two wildlife commissions this year: The Otter Trust and later this year I will be off to Africa again to top-up my Wildlife Portfolio.
